Winfrey’s New York outing comes months after “The Color Purple” actress admitted to using weight loss medication as an aid to help manage her weight. Speaking to People magazine in December 2023, Winfrey divulged how she feels like she has a better handle on maintaining a healthy weight.
She spoke about how she had added weight-loss medication to her holistic-approach regimen. Her health routine includes regular exercise and an array of lifestyle tweaks, like eating her last meal for the day at 4 p.m. and drinking a gallon of water a day.
As someone under the constant gaze and scrutiny of the public eye, Winfrey is used to people placing judgment on her body. However, she shared how her weight fluctuations would constantly occupy her brain for five decades.
On the matter, she disclosed that these thoughts would leave her feeling puzzled as to why she couldn’t just conquer her weight loss goals, adding, “believing willpower was my failing.”

The beloved talk show host disclosed how she started hiking after her knee surgery. She would set new distance goals every week and managed to eventually hike three to five miles each day.
“I felt stronger, more fit and more alive than I’d felt in years,” boasted the Hollywood star of her fitness accomplishments.
At this time, Winfrey said that while she had an awareness of weight-loss medication, she still felt as though she had to prove herself and her willpower. However, she made it clear that she no longer feels that way.
